MISSION

The mission of the South Florida Human Trafficking Task Force (SFHTTF) is to rescue and protect victims of human trafficking, successfully prosecute traffickers, and educate the communities in the South Florida area. This mission is achieved through collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Churches, Private Entities, and other Federal and State/local law enforcement agencies.

Collaborative Approach

The South Florida Human Trafficking Task Force is a joint project of the Miami-Dade Police Department and the International Rescue Committee (Miami) and is jointly funded by the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Office for Victims of Crime. The Task Force also works in partnership with the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and Homeland Security Investigations in Miami. 

The Task Force, through the support of its Committee members, provides training, technical assistance, and outreach to the Tri-County area. The Task Force has four active Committees composed of members from varies sectors of our community:

  • Law Enforcement  (closed to the public – invite only)

  • Service Provider 

  • Outreach, Training, and Education 

  • Interfaith 

  • Academic
